The state permit
Onsite wastewater systems in New Mexico are permitted by the New Mexico Environment Department. The permit approves the system type, size and location based on the site evaluation and design.
What we prepare
- Site evaluation results
- A site plan with the house, well, ditches, tank, field and setbacks
- System design and sizing
- The application itself

Inspection
The system is inspected before it's covered. After it passes, we backfill and grade.
Village rules
Corrales has its own planning and zoning rules for building on a lot. Septic is permitted by the state, but your overall project may involve village approvals too. We'll help you sort out what applies.
Common questions
Can work start before the permit?
No — we wait for approval.
How long do permits take?
It varies; we'll give you an estimate.
Does a repair need a permit?
Many do, and replacements do. We'll confirm.
